Little-bit-of-chocolate Bars 1/2 c (1 stick) butter or margarine
1/2 c Brown sugar, packed
1 ts Vanilla
1 Egg
1 1/2 c Flour (white or half white, half whole wheat)
1 c Regular wheat germ
1/2 c Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Cream butter and brown sugar in a large bowl. Beat in vanilla and egg. Stir in flour and wheat germ. Press evenly into an 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 325 for 20 minutes or til lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle top with chocolate chips. When the chocolate has softenened, use a spatula or broad knife to sprad it carefully over the top surface. Cool before cutting into bars. To store, separate layers with foil.
